Malaysia and Qatar have jointly called for an immediate cessation of hostilities in West Asia, emphasizing the urgent need for accelerated delivery of humanitarian aid and enhanced diplomatic efforts to defuse regional tensions. This shared stance emerged from a recent telephone conversation between Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
During their discussion, the two leaders reviewed the latest developments in peace negotiations, the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, and efforts aimed at easing tensions involving Iran. Prime Minister Anwar expressed Malaysia’s commitment to working alongside Qatar and other regional partners to bolster diplomatic initiatives for achieving lasting peace in the region.
